Hannah’s House Easter Party 2021

Hannah’s House provides care, comfort and joy to children with life-limiting or complex conditions. We deliver care and comfort through our in-home respite and palliative care services, now let’s focus on the joyThroughout the year, we host a series of parent peer-to-peer support events. For our families, caring for a child with complex needs is a labour of love that can be very isolating. That’s why these events are so important, they give our families an opportunity to connect with others who understand what they’re going through.

Our most recent event was one of our biggest yet. To celebrate Easter, we hosted a party at Adventure World for over 100 people, a fantastic turn-out. We had initially planned to celebrate Christmas last year at  Adventure World but due to wet weather, we had to postpone. The wait was rewarded with a sweltering hot 38-degree day.

The day started off with our families catching up and enjoying the rides, waterfall playgrounds and other attractions. They then made their way back to the Hannah’s House area to get their faces painted (rainbows were the most popular choice) and have some lunch.

It wouldn’t be an Easter party without a visit from the Easter Bunny! The Easter Bunny came to wish all our families a happy holiday and hand out chocolate and toys to the kids. Although these gifts were handed out by the Easter Bunny, they were generously donated to Hannah’s House by Big W Mirrabooka.

Hannah’s House Board Chair Anne McCormack and CEO Jonine Collins also attended the party. It was a great opportunity for them to catch up with our families.

These events would not be possible without the kindness of our supporters. We would like to thank Adventure World, AlignAlytics and Technical Resources for sponsoring this event and allowing us to make this party completely free for our families to attend. Thank you to Big W Mirrabooka for bringing joy to our families through their gift-giving. This was a wonderful day which we’re sure that our families won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

We look forward to being able to bring even more peer-to-peer support events to mums, dads and children later this year, watch this space! If you would like to support our peer to peer support events, visit our donation page.
