We are delighted to once again have been selected as a Channel 7 Telethon beneficiary and look forward to working together to build better and brighter futures for vulnerable, disadvantaged and sick children across WA.
The record-breaking $62.1 million raised for Telethon last year means that Telethon was able to support Hannah’s House and many more organisations and children’s charities than ever before in 2022.
Hannah’s House focus on quality of life. Families with seriously ill children face complex challenges including stress on siblings, physical and mental health issues, financial and work problems, relationship issues and social isolation.
We are so grateful for the continued support Telethon and 2022 will be the sixth year of a vital partnership that has delivered care, comfort and joy to over 120 children with life-limiting and complex conditions and their families.
Services offered through our Telethon ‘Caring for Kids with Complex Needs’ project are tailored to support children’s physical and social wellbeing, while providing vital respite for parents.
During 2021, our Telethon funding helped us to deliver over 3500 hours of in-home support to 30 children and their families.
Many of these children are living with complex neurological conditions, epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy and a range of rare genetic conditions.
Telethon also helps fund our very popular Playtime Program.
With our amazing Play Specialist Sue, this program brings joy and friendship into the lives of our children and families through Playgroups, Individualised Play Plans and Play Therapy Dates.
Despite the challenges of COVID-19, we made 37 home visits to families, delivered 21 face to face playtime sessions with over 240 attendances including our kids, their siblings, parents and grandparents.
Thanks to Telethon and the kind donations of Western Australians, all the services are provided free of charge.
