Christmas is the season of joy! It’s a time when we all come together as family and friends to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company. That spirit is exactly what Hannah’s House aimed to bring to our Family Christmas Party at the Perth Zoo, held on Sunday 5th December.
More than 100 people, including Hannah’s House clients and their families, braved a hot summer’s day to attend the party.
Many families kicked off their day by exploring the zoo and seeing the animals, before meeting together on the main lawn to enjoy morning tea.
Then a very special white-haired, red coat wearing visitor joined us much to the children’s excitement. Every child and family had the opportunity to have their photo taken with Santa by our event photographer Felix King.
Santa also gave out gifts to all the children, which were kindly donated by the wonderful team at Big W Mirrabooka.
After Santa headed back to the North Pole, families enjoyed pizzas and crepes from the Crizza Food Truck for lunch and then continued on their zoo adventure.
Family events like these are really important to our families as caring for a child with complex needs can be an isolating experience. Hannah’s House events help families get out in community in a supported environment, as well as connect with other families with similar circumstances and experiences.
Big thanks to our event sponsors WA Charity Direct, Align Alytics, Technical Resources, Big W Mirrabooka, Surgical House and District 360 Supports. We couldn’t have hosted this event without your support!
