Fun activities for the school holidays!

Hannah’s House Play Specialist Sue has compiled an amazing list of fun activities to try during the upcoming school holidays! From Lego, to Arts Festivals and magic shows to animal farms and the annual Perth Royal Show, there is so much on offer this September/October.

Events for our Lego lovers:

Bricktober Perth, Curtin Stadium Bentley, 8-9 October

Bricktober Perth is an annual event that showcases models built from Lego by local Perth builders. Being held over the last weekend of the school holidays, this is a family friendly event that brings the community together with an array of amazing Lego displays, fun competitions, a huge interactive, all-ages zone and exclusive Bricktober Perth merchandise.

Jurassic World by Brickman, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, 24 September 2022 – 5 February 2023

Inside Jurassic World by Brickman you’ll encounter over 50 large-scale dinosaurs, props and scenes from the blockbuster Jurassic World franchise – life-size dinosaurs, a Brachiosaurus you can walk underneath, minifig dioramas, and photo opportunities to recreate some of the most iconic moments from the films. You’ll build your own mini Jurassic World and dinosaur footprints, create hybrid dinosaurs, help assemble enormous Lego brick mystery mosaics, and even build your own escape vehicles to flee from the 1 tonne T-rex model!

Festival Fun!

Awesome Arts Festival Perth, Perth metro area, 27 September – 1 October

The AWESOME International Arts Festival for Bright Young Things (the AWESOME Festival) is presented annually in the Perth CBD. The Festival showcases a spectacular array of events including theatre, dance, early childhood activities, music, film, literature, visual arts and creative hands-on activities. AWESOME is committed to presenting high-quality, layered programming for children aged 0 – 12 and their families.

Perth Royal Show, 24 September – 1 October, Claremont Showgrounds

Eight fun-filled days and unforgettable nights. The 2022 Perth Royal Show is the biggest ticket in town. Over 400 entertainers, 300 performances, and endless hours of entertainment, competitions, exhibitions and parades every single day. Visit the biggest ever animal nursery, our all new agricultural experience, and amazing new drone show! Oh, and don’t forget our new and beloved showbags!

Fremantle Activities: 

Fremantle’s Adventureland, 3 – 9 October, Walyalup Koort (Kings Square)

Walk the Plank! Pirate Show, 3 – 9 October, Fishing Boat Harbour

The Bold Buccaneers have captured Mischief McGee, the infamous Captain of the Bubble Buccaneer boat and you can watch as they make him walk the plank! Join the pirates for photos with the stocks, sack races, tug of war, treasure hunts and other pirate activities.

Cicerello’s School Holiday Aqua Tours, Weekdays 10am-11.30am, Cicerello’s

Meet the weird and wonderful sea creatures at Cicerello’s these School Holidays! The Sea Critters Aquatic Adventure led by the Marine Team from Cicerello’s will introduce you to the unique animals who live within their 11 world-class aquariums. With over 150 different species to learn about, some local to our beautiful WA coastline and some from deeper depths, you and your little ones will be dazzled. Two daily session are available Monday to Friday during the school holidays: 10 am-10.30 am, 11 am-11.30 am.
