Hannah's House Board Member Position

We are seeking a passionate leader to join our board and improve improving the quality of life for children with health & disability needs

Hannah’s House supports children with life-limiting or complex conditions and their families to live their best quality of life. We focus on helping children and families to live their best quality of life by:

  • Providing quality care and support from diagnosis through to recovery or bereavement and beyond.
  • Bringing joy into the lives of children with life-limiting or complex conditions and their families.
  • Collaborating to provide the best paediatric palliative care for children and their families.

 

We offer a range of services and support including in-home respite, assistance with daily living, help to transition a child home from hospital, home-based crisis or emergency respite, play therapy, care in schools, palliative respite and end-of-life care.

Our Board currently has six members (including the Chair, Deputy Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary) and meets monthly. To assist with oversight of high-risk areas across the organisation, we have four established subcommittees: Clinical Governance, Finance & Audit, People & Culture, and Marketing & Fundraising.

The position/s currently available are honorary roles, where expenses only will be reimbursed.

The selection panel is interested in hearing from individuals with the following attributes:

  • An interest/experience in the delivery of community services (disability, health, education etc)
  • Experience in Strategic Development, Clinical Governance, Business Development, Finance, Fundraising & Marketing, and Organisational Governance
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  •  A genuine interest in improving the quality of life for children with health & disability needs and with a passion to contribute to our growth and sustainability
  • Leadership experience
  • Lived experience or knowledge of disability or complex health conditions (highly desirable)
  • Previous experience on a board (highly desirable)
  • Availability to attend monthly Board meetings at our Osborne Park Head Office and attend Sub-Committee meetings where possible

Upon selection Hannah’s House will complete a National Police Clearance online and will also require a Working with Children check and NDIS worker screening. You will also be required to complete a Responsible People declaration.
