Gift An Hour Appeal

To provide care, comfort and joy to a child with complex needs

Help ease the burden of care

The challenges of providing 24/7 care for a child with complex medical needs often leads to social isolation, sleep deprivation, stress, fatigue and anxiety in parents. These stressors can impact negatively on home, work and social life and place the family under great strain.

Even if it is only a few hours at a time, breaks from direct caregiving help increase parents’ quality of life and while also helping to prevent burnout, fatigue, depression and anxiety.

By supporting our GIFT AN HOUR appeal, you will be buying an hour of care for a child and giving much-needed relief to a parent.

“An hour of free time means the opportunity to regain my mental clarity in the midst of fatigue. I can take a breather from the constant pressure of ensuring the safety of my child. Some days are very long with no end to the stress and worries. One hour is so powerful because it allows me to switch off, reset and come back stronger. A refreshed mind goes a long way.”

- Genevieve, Mother
